Two Bible Views of God’s TimeLine for
Man’s Salvation - Israel vs Christian
While in the
process of developing my next post for this blog, I was concurrently watching the repeat video of a Bible lesson
from one of my favorite teachers. The late Les Feldick had developed a series
of televised Bible lessons under the title: “Through the Bible with Les
Feldick.” (https://www.lesfeldick.org/
) The specific video that continues to attract my interest is one that drew me
first to have high interest in and respect for Les’ teachings is focused on the
subject of this post. It is found on the website shown above, under the numbered
“Book – Lesson – Part” of 42 – 1 – 2. Scroll down the website to
the lengthy Table to find Book 42, and the option to “Watch Video”.
Les Feldick
captured the two different viewpoints on his website (in the top two graphics) at:
https://www.lesfeldick.org/lestimel.html
. In the video noted above, Les used his traditional chalkboard presentation by
over-lapping the two views, but I found it helpful to see them side-by-side.
When reading
and trying to understand the Scripture, the importance of the concept that the
Bible explains “two views of God’s TimeLine for the salvation of man” cannot be
overstated. I believe it is one of the major points that we are to consider if
we are to heed the advice given by the Apostle Paul to his protégé` Timothy: “Study to shew
thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly
dividing the word of truth.” (emphasis added) (2 Timothy 2: 15)
What the Nation of Israel saw, and still sees as God’s plan for mankind’s
salvation, is considerably different from what we as Christians see.
Understanding these differences helps us improve our communications with our
Jewish colleagues. Further, it helps confirm our common bonds in the origins of
our respective beliefs.
I am closing
this particular post now to hopefully give you lots of time to see the subject
video while you review the two Timelines. They have helped me, and I hope they
might help you help others in understanding our Bible. Any feedback from you will be appreciated.
